Still Pregnant

Well, the doctor said I am still pregnant today. I was hoping that she would give me better news (she asked if I would cry if she told me that I would be pregnant longer (i.e. no real good news to report), I told her no, but I got teary eyed anyway...hormones). Apparently, he can still come at any time but for some reason he is holding out (Already stubborn or is it just that my uterus is that amazing? I think the former and not the latter.). He better be a little angel because this is certainly going to be held over his head for a while. My blood pressure was a little higher than she would have liked, even though I am basically on bed rest, attributable to the heat and his size.

I am having another sonogram on Tuesday to see just how big he is and the doctor said I may have to have a c-section, despite my best efforts to avoid one, depending on what they see (i.e. is this child as big as they think he is...let's hope he is just big enough to sleep...is that too much to ask after all of this?). At 38 weeks he was almost 8 lbs, and 3 weeks later, I am scared that he could be approaching Momma size...9lbs. 12oz. is the record to beat so far. Hopefully, he is a little smaller and we can avoid a c-section, but I will just have to wait and see.

Keep us in your prayers. I am having vivid dreams (or are they nightmares? Sleep is not coming easy, so its hard to tell the difference.) of going into labor, so I hope that I prove to be clairvoyant! This time next week, we will have a baby no matter what and that is what I am focusing on at this point. (Read: One more week, one more week, that is all, one more week.)
