Your 3rd Birthday and You

Oh my darling son, you are 3 now, and whomever said that the two's were terrible, clearly had not yet met a three year old.  But oh my darling, you are three, and full of things to say, places you need to go and ideas that you must explore (and share, loudly, I might add).  Your birthday was so much fun; just watching you enjoy it all with your friends made my year and made these crazy three's worth it all.

Here is a glimpse of where you are and what you like as a Big Boy Three Year Old:

1.  You like sleeping in your big boy bed and using the big boy potty (and normally insist on using the men's room, like I am even willing to go in that place).
2.  You are quite the talker, which will shock exactly no one, and you like to express your opinions on everything from what you wear, to what you eat, watch, play and, again unsurprisingly, about your punishment for transgressions. 
3.  You have quite the imagination, which has led to ask many questions about all these crazy people spanking you, places you went, things you ate and those you ascribe to be "mean guys." 
4.  You love swimming, tennis, tae kwon do, Spanish class and playing with cars, trains and pretending to hunt and shoot guns (don't cringe folks, he is all boy and a country boy at that).  Your favorite thing to spot is a tractor and you talk a lot about tractors, especially Pawpaw's orange tractor and your green John Deere one he bought you.
5.  You love to pinch my cheeks for fun.  You like to bite, hit or pull hair when you are mad.
6.  You love your bedtime rituals of talking with each of us, saying each of our little sayings (I Love you forever, I Like you for Always with Momma and the 4 Important Things with Daddy).
7.  Your favorite book is Aladdin (he is not clear that it is a movie....yet) and you have memorized many parts of many others.  Your favorite movie is a three way tie between Cars, Lion King and Tarzan.
8.  Your favorite place to visit is possibly also a tie between the Zoo (lions and gorillas) and any farm with animals (pigs and tractors).
9.  You are a little monkey, climbing everywhere; onto the counter for gum or candy and into your closet to change your clothes.
10.  You must change your clothes at least 3 times a day.  You also must take all clothes off to use the potty, which makes any potty experience very tricky and sometimes, well, messy.
11.  You make us laugh everyday.  It is sometimes hard to punish you with your sweet face begging to say sorry and recite the rules or when you make up a story and I just laugh because I have no idea where the concepts come from. 

We love you and we enjoy you so much. Happy 3rd Birthday my darling boy!
