All these other babies

So I was sort of bummed to be pregnant after a lot of our friends were because it felt like I was behind. I have to say though, it is so fun to see who all is pregnant at the same time, again, thank you Facebook. Turns out I have some very good friends that are due within a week of me, which I love! I will let them identify themselves but its super rad.

Facebook Reunions

So I joined Facebook in a moment of boredom and my friends had all said how fun it was...THEY WERE RIGHT. I love seeing old friends, catching up, seeing their photos, news, etc. Its so much fun. I suppose it will be fun to post our news on there and this little blog so they can see Baby Azer.

I had a doctor's appointment today and heard the heartbeat, which never gets old. So far so good. Our little fender bender from Tuesday (I hate snow, I hate ice and I really hate people who let a 16 year old drive in ice and snow who then rear ends us at a stop light.) does not seem to have caused any issues, except to the car. I am very grateful for that.

On another note, Adrian is really funny now about telling people. He likes to randomly tell people so that they are almost taken aback with the news because it comes without warning. I know my parents can relate to this but its so funny. I cannot wait until its out in the open, makes it a lot easier to not have to change the subject about going for coffee, eating sandwiches, going to happy hour, etc. My clothes have started feeling tighter this week so its only a matter of time until its obvious anyway.

Now I am just dying to know whether it is a girl or a boy...I think it will be a girl to punish Adrian for his past actions. He thinks its a boy.

Either way we will be super happy!

The FIRST Sonogram

We went for our first sonogram on January 6th. Of course it was raining and it was a crappy day and I was feeling rather nauseous. Adrian met me at the doctor, only to tell me he had just received an emergency assignment and needed to make this quick. (Apparently Adrian has never been to a doctor's office before where waiting is all part of the experience.)

Anyway, we get back there and we see the baby! The technician pointed out the heartbeat, which Adrian could not see, so we had to freeze frame to point out that the worm like thing shaking was the heartbeat. Then we HEARD THE HEARTBEAT! That was really exciting for us and prompted Adrian's response of "this is really happening isn't it?"

Our next one is scheduled for February 4th, and if we are given the all clear, I think we will go public with our news!

What a Surprise!

Some people go to Egypt and come back with pictures of pyramids, beautiful silver trays and lovely cotton goods. Apparently we came back with a baby! We found out that we were blessed to be having a baby right before Christmas and we vowed to keep it secret (at least I vowed to keep it secret...).



If you know Adrian, then you know that just when you ask him not to do something is pretty much permission for him to do the opposite. It all starting coming undone at his parents on Christmas Eve when he would tease me and call me "preggers" loud enough for people to hear (luckily they did not hear). Then we ventured down to Jonesville on Christmas Day, and Adrian did not much more walk through the door before he burst out our news to my parents. (No CIA or FBI secret spy wars in his future.) Then I felt bad that we did not tell his family, so we had to immediately go upstairs and call them to share our news. Now that the family knows (and most of Jonesville I am sure), its actually been a relief to not hide things anymore. We are still waiting to tell our friends and I sure that when they find out, many peculiar happenings will be answered.
