A close friend of mine lost her 18 month old daughter to bacterial meningitis this week. I cannot express in words the profound sadness that washed over me when I heard the news this week. I am grateful to Mandy and Ed that they let me know little Hudson Chaney. I am grateful that I got to kiss that sweet little angel before she passed to heaven. I remain inspired by Mandy, who has shown incredible poise and strength this week, facing the worst fears of every parent. If I can be half the mother to Teddy that Mandy is to Hudson, I will have truly accomplished a worthy feat. I pray for their comfort and peace. I know we will see Hudson again someday and she will forever be that smiling and happy baby that we all adored.
