Love is in the Air

I am not sure how to put into words exactly how it feels to be so loved but I am going to give it a shot in this blog. We had Thanksgiving in Jonesville this year and we took this opportunity to have Teddy Christened at my home church in Jonesville. To really explain how much love I felt, you have to understand that my expectations were that this would be at most 10 people, most those being my family in Jonesville. Being Christened is a big step but we were doing it over a holiday in a private service at the church. In the end, we had over 40 guests come to his Christening, some travelling from Atlanta, South Carolina and Northern Virginia to be there for this special moment in Teddy's life. Not to mention our friends who took time away from their families to come and share this moment with us--I was truly touched in a way that I cannot explain. I said at the Christening that my wedding was one of the greatest days of my life (and still is, I love you Adrian), then Teddy was born and at the very least tied that feeling (Adrian, please understand that this was the greatest day of my life in a different way), then I feel like his Christening really cemented all the love that a baby brings into your life. It's truly amazing to look out into a church you grew up in and see the pews filled with loved ones, friends who feel like family and family all there for you--it was amazing and was definitely God speaking to us through the Christening of Teddy. I can only hope that each of you, whether you were there in person or in spirit, knows how much we love you and how much we appreciate everything you brought to our lives and what you will bring to Teddy's. As an only child, I had to depend on friends to be siblings and Teddy has a lot of aunts and uncles from my side as a result. I also have to thank my parents who really made a huge effort to make this so special and bring us all together--you are fabulous hosts and I love you so much and appreciate everything you have sacrificed to bring me to this moment. Also, to my in-laws, thank you for making me part of your family and I love that Teddy will grow up close to you and his cousins just like I did as a child.

We have felt so blessed all along for all the notes, emails, calls and gifts that we received when Teddy was born (it surpasses everything from our wedding, which is truly a feat!). Just to know that people care that much about you and go out of their way to make you feel loved is so special and really makes me believe that children are a miracle of God and exist to make your life more special and fulfilled. I never expected how much a baby brings you closer to your parents, in-laws, friends, and other people who are/were important in your own life. I just hope that each person who has sent us a note, email, made a phone call and sent a gift knows that we are so grateful and we hope you know how important you are to us and we will make sure Teddy knows when he is older.

Thank you to all of our friends and family for making Teddy's birth such a great occasion. I hope that we continue to grow closer and watch all the children grow up together.
